This Monday brings a new week, lots of new ideas, and approximately 6 months until Christmas (woooo!) – but if you are a bit squeamish of those ideas, then you’ll be pleased to know that this post contains no Christmas content in the slightest, but more gym chatter and methods to get your body feeling good and in your ideal shape.
I learnt over the last few months that going to the gym constantly requires focus and finding your feet in what suits you and your body type. Using Music is a HUGE help for me in keeping my focus with the people around me also using the machines and weights. Comparing yourself to everyone around you is one of the WORST things you could do – everyone is different and every weight lifted no matter heavy, is able to develop muscle. You most certainly wouldn’t catch me curling 40kg weights, but I’ve seen some people do it with ease!
No one expects you to walk into the gym on your first session knowing exactly what you are doing, on what days, and have your workout routine established to a T – it all takes time and even these days I still don’t know what I’m doing when I head to the gym, but getting a routine down is great for some people, and a waste of time for others as we all want to work on different aspects of keeping healthy. You do definitely want to give yourself time to find your feet, but you also need to tell yourself to push further and further in each session otherwise it’ll take a little longer in establishing muscle change and your body developing to its fullest potential.
Try not to get too caught up in Gym chit chat if possible as you’ll find that the time will fly by, and before you know it, the gym shuts in 10 minutes. Music and a whole lot of focus is what pushes me through these days, and even after a few sessions, I was feeling so much healthier. You do what is right for YOUR body – we all have different strengths and weaknesses – weaknesses of which can be overcome. ❤
How do you find focus when you’re working out?
Have a fab week everyone, don’t work toooooo hard ( 😉 ), and enjoy the sunshine!
